During a bout of nice weather in February, a kindly Cambridge native advised me, "Ne'er cast a clout ere May is out."
May, so far, has been kind. On May 5, we were able to break out the shorts on a weekend bike ride to Waterbeach:

On a school night there is sometimes time for an outing to view the the swan's nest near Fen Ditton:
We also enjoyed watching the moorhens build their nest on a tree near the Green Dragon bridge, until it became a perch for a satisfied heron:
On Sunday, s. and I made it out to Jesus College for evensong in the oldest college chapel in Cambridge. S. did not much care for the Sunday evening talk on the theme of resurrection in Dante, but the music was divine.
I realize this post has been for the birds. The flowers are nice too.
